Distance from the airport is 110 km, 100km from Kuta/Seminyak. the journey time will be between 3 and 3.5 hours.
Once you are out of the congestion of south Bali, past the temple town of Mengwi (about 30km from the airport), the roads are good, traffic is light, and the scenery stunning.
If you are coming from Ubud, the distance is 90km, and journey time 2.5 hours. You will join the Bedugul / Singaraja road at Mengwi or a few km further north
We recommend you take your time, traveling here is part of the “north Bali experience”. There are so many places to see en-route, we suggest you set off in the early morning and arrive here in the mid-afternoon to catch the sunset with your favourite drink in hand.
We also receive many guests traveling to and from East Java, most are visiting the Ijen Crater (Blue Fire mountain). Entry point in Bali is the port of Gilimanuk, which is only 75km and 75 minutes away from the resort along the north coast road.

Head north on the road sign posted Bedugul and Singaraja
You will reach the Pura Taman Ayun one of the seven great temples of Bali and the oldest. It is surrounded by a moat, and is a haven for peace and tranquility. |

| After 7 km: | Drop in at the Pod Chocolate factory and showroom – you can sample every one of their approx. 30 varieties of chocolate in their range, watch it being made and wash it down with a cappuccino. Aussie-owned, Pod is one of Bali’s great eco-entrepreneur stories and is highly recommended. |

Drop into Baturiti Coffee, on the right after Baturiti market and sample their Luwak coffee, freshly “processed” by the civet cat. You are now in Bedugul, stop here for the lake temple Pura Ulun Danau Bratan, a boat ride on Lake Bratan, a visit the Botanic Gardens “Kebun Raya”, and check out the farmers’ market. |

| After 39 km: | Stop at the entrance of the Bali Handara Golf Resort, Bali’s most beautiful course and take a selfie in front of the Candi Bentar, or “split gates” one of the largest in Bali amid a spectacular mountain backdrop. |

| After 42 km: | Turn sharp left onto the road heading for Lake Tamblingan, Munduk and Seririt. Stop here to try the excellent satay by the roadside and share your bananas with the monkeys. |

You are now in Munduk, trekking centre of the north. Stop at the Karang Merah (Red Coral) Waterfall, a short 500m walk from the main road You enter the town of Seririt. Follow the one-way system until you reach the main coast road, bear left, head west towards Pemuteran and Gilimanuk. |

| After 75 km: | After passing a Pertamina petrol station on your right you head up a gentle hill and enter the village of Desa Umenayar. Turn right at the staggered crossroads, the entry of the road has a red split gate and signs for all the hotels and restaurants in the neighbourhood.(NB: new sign under construction as at December 2018). Follow for 1km, take a left fork in front of Zen Resort, Mayo Resort is at the end of the road after another 1km |
Route 2: The Low Road – Ricefields & Traditional Bali
| Start (0 km):After 25 km: | Head west on the road signposted Tabanan, Negara and Gilimanuk.(18km after Tabanan and 2km after Bajera), at the town of Antosari, turn right onto the road signposted Pupuan. Take care, it is easy to miss. This road continues for 45km and is a pleasure on the eye from start to finish, a slide show of rural unspoilt Bali at its best. |

| After 35 km: | Stop for a coffee at The Kebun Hotel & Restaurant and admire the view, they have for sale a great collection of souvenirs and local handicrafts. | |

Stop at the village of Belimbing, take a stroll, visit the temple. Photo-stop at the entrance of Hotel Cempaka, you will see Mount Batukaru in all its glory, with dramatic rice terraces in the foreground. Altitude 2,276, Bali’s third highest, it is very heavily forested and near impossible to climb. |

Stop in the village of Sanda, it is famous for its thatched rice storage barns called “Lumpung” Pass on you left the Vihara Dharma Giri, a Buddhist temple noted for its reclining Buddha. You will pass the famed Bussungbiu Rice Terraces. The village of Bussungbiu, is a further 4km away, and is another pleasant stop off point. Join the road coming down from Munduk (the High Road). From here you are 11 km from the Resort. |

| Start (0 km) | Head south and west out of town centre. If you are on the east side of town, follow Jalan Hanoman towards the Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA). If you are on the west use Jalan Penestanan (starts near Blanco Museum). From either road, turn left into Jalan Raya Singakarta which runs east-west along the southern boundary of the town | |
| About 5km | You will arrive at a crossroads, with the Cocomart supermarket on your right and a Pertamina petrol station opposite on the left. This is the junction with Jalan Tebongkong (north-south). With Cocomart on your right, cross over and continue west.
After 500m turn right into Jalan Raya Tunon and head north. After 300m turn left at the junction with a car sales showroom. Do NOT head any further north as there is no opportunity to turn left after that, and eventually you will find yourself in Kintamani area. Follow this road which becomes Jalan Semaya, initially west then SW then west again until you reach a store called Bintang, after 1.5km. |

| About 16 km | At 200m after the Sangeh Monkey Forest take the left fork for the town of Sembung and the road leading to the north-south trunk road signposted for Bedugul and Singaraja. Follow this road for 2km. | |
